September 22, 2018 - High Adventure Poker Run (Dealer Event)
The last event we had on our calendar for the ride season was the High Adventure Dealer Event. This annual event was not a member sponsored ride as it was sponsored by the folks at High Adventure. Regardless, it’s an annual event that we have never missed. Joining us (Pam and Carter) and representing the club were Sassy, and Bill Schmelzel, Bill Raymond, Barb Worthington and Naomi Dyal. So, there were seven of us club members out of just under 40 total participants at the ride event. We appreciate those members that could attend but we understand it’s a busy time of the year.
The weather was a bit nippy and windy when we first launched. It was 44 degrees when we started up Weber Canyon at 8:30 in the morning. Those without hand-warmers found their fingers tingling. But, the day was actually quite warm by the time we got back to the dealership around 12:30 for our “FREE” catered lunch. High Adventure sure knows how to do a dealer event.
As for the Poker hands! Sassy won first place with her poker hand and took home a real nice prize. Rumors are that she will be buying a new Spyder so the gift certificate will come in handy.

September 9, 2018 - Monte Cristo / Shooting Star Ride
The smoke from California’s big fires moved back into the area over-night, but a fun group showed up to ride. We had Jackie and Lowell Haskin, Ray Christenson, Bill O’Donnell, Geoff and Katlyn Gommerman, Ray Melius, Pam and I (Carter) Frazier ready to ride at 10am in Farmington.
We took I-84 and Trappers up to Snow Basin where I pulled the group in to show them where Snow Basin holds their Summer Concert Series every Sunday until the end of September. The oaks and maples were starting to change up there but the Aspens (Quakies) are about ten days out.
Snow Basin turned out to be a great location for our first stretch before getting back on the road. About an hour later, we found ourselves near the crest on Monte Cristo Pass. There in a convenient pull-out/ parking area up there that served as our next stop.
The smoke was definitely intense up there, but the oportunity to take on some twisties on a comfortable ride day made the route worth the trip. I highly recommend this ride every September. The construction over Trappers will conclude with the strips being layed down in the next week or so. Can you imagine that route with fall colors, brand new asphault and no smoke in the air? I sure hope I find time later in the month to repeat this ride.
After a snack or two we backtracked our way back to Huntsville, pulled in to the City Park and took a restroom break.
Unfortunately, a few of our members had to leave us early due to other comitments. But, the rest of us made our way over to the Shooting Star where we had some monster burgers. How big were they? Well, Pam obviously thought they were mighty big.
Our ride’s "official destination" was lunch at the Shooting Star. So, after lunch we split up for our rides back home. It was a fun ride and the last scheduled "CLUB" ride of the season.

July 29, 2018 - Wolf Creek Loop Ride
Yep! That’s the entire column you see going over Wolf Creek Pass. The photo was taken by Katlyn aboard Geoff’s Spyder. That’s me (Carter) leading with Pam in the middle. So, while most, but not all members were back in the smoke and smog filled, stifling hot valley, the four of us had a great ride. Comfortably wearing jackets! Well, until we came down the canyon and re-entered the Wasatch Front.
The rest of the story! Lou and Gary are busy packing to move to Spearfish South Dakota. Sassy and Bill are in Illinois. Bill and Vickie are out in their new camper. There’s just a lot going on and there always is in July. We know and fully understand. It’s all good! Rides are scheduled for those who are available and today was just one of those days where very few members were available. Gotta mention that Lou and Gary did take a few minutes off from their packing to join us in Salt Lake to launch the ride this morning. They are awesome. We’ll miss them.

July 9-15, 2018 - Deadwood Three Wheeler Rally
Eleven members of our club in the beautiful Black Hills in Deadwood, South Dakota for the 4th annual 3-wheel rally. We all broke into groups to get there, each going a different way. Katlyn and Geoff were able to get the majority of the members together for a ride to Mt. Rushmore, then down the Needles Highway and up the Iron Mountain Road. The next day a few of us and some new friends took the same route but were able to add the Crazy Horse Monument before the rain set in so that we could not go down into Custer National Park. The weather for the week was for the most part HOT with a few night time showers thrown in. There were lots of vendors to visit and buy things to beautify our spyders.
For the return home, we all split up leaving at different times and going different ways. All in all, I think everyone had a very good time, saw lots of beautiful scenery and look forward to the 5th Annual Rally next year.

July 1, 2018 – Mirror Lake Ride
What a great way to start the month of July. 11 members and 9 bikes from our club met at Moto United on July 1 for a ride led by Carter. The morning was a tad cool so jackets were needed. We headed out I-80 towards Kamas, which was our first stop for restrooms and refreshments. It was here that 2 more spyder rider members joined up with us for the rest of the ride over the Mirror Lake Highway. That made a total of 7 spyders and 4 two wheelers in our group, 13 members altogether. The scenery was beautiful and some of us even saw a moose. We stopped along the way towards the summit to get some pictures of our group with their bikes. Next we continued on to Evanston where we stopped for lunch at Don Pedro's Family Mexican Restaurant. The food was great as was the conversation. Some of our group left from here but the majority continued on to the I-80 Echo Visitor Center and Rest stop. From there the group split off to go their separate ways home. Thanks to all that were able to join us today: Carter and Pam, Leigh and K.C., Sassy and Bill, Ray and Helen, Gary and Lou, Pete and Jane, and Bill #2. Till our next ride.....safe travels everyone.

April 28, 2018 - Golden Spike
On a perfect warm and sunny day, our club gathered together at Barnes Park in Kaysville for a fun ride led by Lowell and Jackie Haskins. In attendance were 11 bikes and 13 people. Our first stop was to be Golden Spike National Historic Site where the Completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad took place when the Central Pacific RR met with the Union Pacific RR at Promontory Summit, but we took a side trip to the ATK Thiokol Facility to see the rockets first. Rockets from the 1950's through the 2000's are on display outside including the booster for a space shuttle. At Golden Spike we were not fortunate enough to see the trains. The summer opening schedule with a big party is to take place on May 10so we were just a bit early. We did browse through the gift shop and the grounds before heading out again for lunch at the Maddox Drive-In in Brigham City. We ended the ride here although most of us followed each other to our individual get-off points. A wonderful day was enjoyed by all of us.

March 10, 2018 - R & R BBQ Ride-In
Our Club welcomed a beautiful sunny day with a gathering at the R & R BBQ in the Farmington area. The Lines for food were long but it allowed us time to catch up on the events in our lives since we last got together. Thanks to some of the members for saving us a set of table so we could all sit together and continue our visiting. The food was so good and of course, so was the company! Those attending were 12 of us: Ray & Helen; Geoff & Katlyn; Leigh & K.C.; Pam & Carter; Bill & Vickie; Gary & Mary Lou.
